As a federally certified community development financial institution (CDFI), our job is to make finance an agent of positive change and equitable growth. We provide loans, grants and technical assistance to businesses and nonprofits. Our borrowers and grantees educate students, support local economies, and create jobs. They build affordable housing and provide community goods and services that include access to nutritious food, hunger relief, physical and mental health care, and other social services.

We are seeking the guidance and expertise of a DEI expert to continue building on Reinvestment Funds efforts towards a culture of equity and inclusion for all employees and ensuring organization activities are aligned with DEI as a fundamental pillar of the Reinvestment Fund.
This is a new and exciting position for Reinvestment Fund and while the job description may be aspirational, we are passionate about promoting a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. We are approaching this important process with openness as to what we can learn from each candidate and are hopeful to better shape the role based on that process. Although we would prefer a full-time employee who can help mold the organization and become an integral part of its future, we are also open to the possibility of a contractor hire to help us form the structure and culture that will house our DEI priorities.
Reinvestment Fund is maintaining a 100% remote work environment through early 2022 due to COVID. Reinvestment Fund expects to provide a flexible work arrangement that will be a hybrid home/office work arrangement in 2022 and beyond. It is anticipated that a combination of working remote and a minimum number of days in a Reinvestment Fund office location will allow for face-to-face interactions. Depending on the nature of the job, a more flexible work schedule may be considered.
The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is a strategic partner who has a track record of building systemic change and implementing a variety of DEI programs, assessing gaps and measuring progress with a passion to promote meaningful, long-lasting change.
They are skilled at promoting the organization’s mission through subject matter expertise, influential leadership, outstanding written and verbal skills, and program management.
The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will report to the CEO, with a dotted-line report to the CHRO and COO.
