On July 11 2013, TRF partnered with Next City to co-host a discussion at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University on how major American cities and metropolitan areas are addressing environmental, political, economic, and fiscal problems that our leaders in Washington have yet to solve.
Following introductory remarks by TRF President and CEO Don Hinkle-Brown, Bruce Katz, co-author of The Metropolitan Revolution, kicked off the evening’s conversation by introducing trends that are reshaping our economy and fixing our broken political system.
Moderated by Diana Lind, Executive Director and Editor-in-Chief of NextCity, the panel discussion focused on Philadelphia’s distinct opportunities and challenges as an agent of The Metropolitan Revolution.
• Honorable Michael Nutter, Mayor, City of Philadelphia
• Jennifer Bradley and Bruce Katz, Co-authors, The Metropolitan Revolution: How Cities and Metros are Fixing our Broken Politics and Fragile Economy
• Mark Zandi, Chief Economist, Moody’s Analytics and TRF Board member
