Where do you go to school and what are you studying towards?
I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Government at Cornell University, with minors in Spanish and History.
What attracted you to Reinvestment Fund for a summer internship?
For a summer internship, I wanted the opportunity to do something unlike what I study in school, and Reinvestment Fund seemed like a great place to do so. The company’s focus on improving education in low-income areas aligns with my interest in inner-city schooling.
What are some of the things you will be working on for Reinvestment Fund during your internship? What do you hope to learn from your internship here?
Working on the CID team, I will be helping to write and proofread blog articles, briefs, newsletters, and other online publications. I’ll also be assisting with the communication for company events and exploring and planning new social media initiatives. While here, I’m looking forward to improving my writing and editing skills, and getting to work with Adobe InDesign.
Share something interesting you have learned about Reinvestment Fund or the industry in your time here.
As the CID intern I have had the chance to learn about various Reinvestment Fund projects and write success stories about them that are posted on the company’s website. It’s truly amazing how diverse the lending projects are and the huge impacts they’re having on low-income communities all over the country.
Is there anything else that you would like to share that we didn’t ask you?
I have been playing Ultimate Frisbee for the past 6 years, in the Philadelphia area and in Ithaca, NY. This past season my team at Cornell, the Wild Roses, made it to DI College Nationals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! If anyone is interested in getting involved with the best sport known to man, feel free to reach out to me.
