Diane Chogo
Invest Health Intern

Where do you go to school and what are you studying towards?

I am currently attending Temple University as a rising Senior. I will be receiving a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Biology.

What attracted you to Reinvestment Fund for a summer internship?

I was most interested in the recognition that health affects many facets of society. The initiative of Invest Health captured my attention because it perfectly encompassed my passion for community advocacy and development concerning health access.

What are some of the things you will be working on for Reinvestment Fund during your internship? What do you hope to learn from your internship here?

My everyday tasks consist of either preparing for a convening with representatives from the 50 cities we are working or finding background information for various foundations, CDFI’s, Health systems, and organizations in New Jersey, where we are exploring a New Jersey adaptation of Invest Health.

Share something interesting you have learned about Reinvestment Fund or the industry in your time here.

Something interesting I have learned from my time at Reinvestment Fund is the ability for a financial institution to be active in communities to make changes for the better. Usually, there is an idea that financial institutions are not the best at community relations; but during my time spent here, what I’ve seen has really changed my mind.
