Jason Zacconi
Information & Technology Services Intern

Where do you go to school and what are you studying towards?

I am currently enrolled at Peirce College working toward a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Network Administration and Information Security. I plan to graduate in December 2018.

What attracted you to Reinvestment Fund for a summer internship?

Reinvestment Fund is a great organization that contributes to positive change in low-income communities and works to improve the quality of life in those areas. I enjoy doing work for an organization that contributes so much to the welfare of others and has such positive values that I am proud to support. They also offered training in areas I had not yet had much exposure to.

What are some of the things you will be working on for Reinvestment Fund during your internship? What do you hope to learn from your internship here?

In working with the IT department, I have learned more about various subjects in technical support and systems administration and have been able to assist the IT staff in these areas. I also have been helping users with daily support needs and requests, as well as assisting with monitoring systems, documenting network changes, and deploying new equipment to staff. I would like to learn more about Information Security and the best practices when it comes to mitigating risks.

Share something interesting you have learned about Reinvestment Fund or the industry in your time here.

It’s been great to learn about how Reinvestment Fund has positively impacted millions of people through the projects they fund in many different areas such as education, housing, health, and clean energy.

Is there anything else that you would like to share that we didn’t ask you?

I have learned a lot of valuable information here in terms of career options, technical skills, and best practices. Everyone in the IT department has been a great teacher and mentor, and I feel more confident about entering the field after receiving their guidance.
