Policy Solutions Intern

Where do you go to school and what are you studying towards?
I go to school at Dartmouth and am studying Geography. I am interested in urban issues and passionate about Philadelphia. I am still undecided as to what I want to pursue for a future career, but I have enjoyed researching urban planning, transportation, and policy.

What attracted you to Reinvestment Fund for a summer internship?
Two of my previous internships included supervisors who had both worked in some capacity for Reinvestment Fund. Both of these mentors recommended that I look into Reinvestment Fund as an option for this summer, and I was excited when I heard that they had an opening. I have some experience with GIS, and Policy Solutions provides a great opportunity to enhance these skills. I’m also looking forward to further developing my research and data analysis skills. Lastly, I admire the incredible impact that Reinvestment Fund has had on communities across the nation, and I am excited to be a part of their efforts to revitalize neighborhoods and improve the lives of others.

What are some of the things you will be working on for Reinvestment Fund this summer? What do you hope to learn from your internship here?
So far I have worked on projects involving food accessibility, gentrification, real estate, education, and healthcare. These projects have given me the opportunity to delve into the dynamics of several major urban communities, including neighborhoods in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Detroit. I look forward to continuing to learn how Reinvestment Fund brings analytical expertise to address our cities’ most perplexing issues and increase equitable opportunities.

Anything you would like to add?
I am from Blue Bell, PA and am a big sports fan. I love discovering new places in Philly, so don’t hesitate to give me recommendations on places to check out. I’m excited to meet everybody and get started!
