Nick Hussey
Finance Intern

Where do you go to school and what are you studying towards?
I am currently enrolled in the Fox School of Business at Temple University. I am pursuing a degree in Accounting with a minor in MIS. After graduation in the Spring I plan to get CPA certified.

What attracted you to The Reinvestment Fund for a summer internship?
What stands out about Reinvestment Fund is their history of improving the lives of people living in low-income neighborhoods. A goal of mine has always been to work for a company that promotes positive change. Interning at Reinvestment Fund allows me to make a positive influence on the world while gaining valuable accounting experience and knowledge.

What are some of the things you will be working on for Reinvestment Fund during your internship? What do you hope to learn from your internship here?
Some of the things I will be doing this summer for Reinvestment Fund are the completing daily cash processes, reviewing loan portfolios, recording journal entries, and testing new software updates. I will also have opportunities to do research and project work for Reinvestment Fund. I hope to learn more about the financial structure of non-profit organizations and how they obtain loans and investors.

Share something interesting you have learned about Reinvestment Fund or the industry in your time here.
In my very first week at Reinvestment Fund I learned that every problem does not always have a clear and definite solution. Many situations require “outside the box” thinking to achieve the necessary answer. I look forward to demonstrating my problem solving abilities at Reinvestment Fund.
