Greening Investments: Energy

Energy investments are among the most beneficial choices within a project. An energy investment results in savings that can be used for other purposes.

TRF-financed projects have created and conserved

3.1 million MWh

of energy, enough to power

332,593 homes

for a year.

Energy improvements also increase a property’s market value. Equally as important, energy investments can help reduce the adverse health and environmental effects attributed to conventional fuel sources by reducing energy consumption and opting for clean, renewable energy.

TRF has a strong commitment to environmentally sustainable development. First evidenced in our financial products and services and, more recently, through our own development efforts, TRF invests in clean energy and energy conservation.

In recognition of TRF’s leadership in sustainable energy, TRF was selected in 2010 to manage and administer three energy loan funds in Pennsylvania, each targeted to specific geographies. For all three funds, TRF is leveraging support from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act with additional private and public capital to create a total of $85 million in new financing for energy conservation and renewable energy projects. The funds will provide immediate access to public and private capital.
