The Sustainable Economic Empowerment and Development (SEED) Fund

Leer en Español

The Sustainable Economic Empowerment and Development (SEED) Fund is designed to strengthen the financial wellbeing of family child care business owners in Philadelphia, particularly those operating in under resourced communities. Historically, these businesses face systemic inequities, low wages, and limited access to retirement planning, which makes building financial stability and generational wealth extremely challenging. Through this initiative, participants will receive financial education, retirement planning support, and grant funding to achieve both short- and long-term financial goals.

What is the SEED Fund?

The SEED Fund combines grant funding and financial coaching to support family child care business owners in Philadelphia. With a specific focus on retirement planning, grantees will work alongside coaches to build long-term financial plans and receive grant funds to support these plans. The program will provide both group and 1-on-1 coaching, as well as micro grants to support the implementation of these financial plans.

This program is supported through a partnership with Quality Influential Professionals (QIP) and Latinos Educando Juntos (LEJ). Both organizations will provide coaching and support for grantees throughout the length of the program.
