Elizabeth Friend

Director, Clean Energy & Sustainable Finance

Elizabeth Friend serves as Director, Clean Energy and Sustainable Finance at Reinvestment Fund. In this role, Elizabeth focuses on providing financing solutions for renewable energy projects, energy efficiency measures, and resilience improvements in communities, ensuring that these investments benefit climate-vulnerable populations through reduced energy costs and improved access to sustainable homes and facilities. 
 
Before joining Reinvestment Fund, Elizabeth served as Managing Director of The Small-Scale Sustainable Infrastructure Development Fund (S3IDF), a nonprofit impact investment firm dedicated to supporting early-stage businesses tackling climate change, poverty, and gender inequality. Elizabeth also served as a subject matter expert and educator with Digital Frontiers Institute and she has led workshops and developed digital finance curriculum aimed at closing financing gaps for micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Additionally, Elizabeth has consulted on and supported a range of renewable energy projects for bi-lateral agencies and multinational finance institutions. 
 
Elizabeth holds a Master of Science in Finance from Northeastern University, a Master of Arts in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership Studies and Political Science from the University of Richmond.
