ELSG 2023 Spring-Summer Grant (Completed Grant)

Bainum Family Foundation and Reinvestment Fund are pleased to announce that over 90 eligible Child Development Homes (CDHs) have received an Early Learning Support Grant. These $5,000 grants offered flexible support to home-based childcare providers throughout Washington, D.C.

This grant amounts to an investment of over $400,000 into the District’s childcare landscape. Through this funding eligible business-owners were able to make improvements to their childcare facilities. Grant funds were able to be used in a responsive manner that empowered business owners to make the best use of funds to improve children’s learning environments, play spaces and other uses to impact their operations.

This grant opportunity is currently closed. We look forward to sharing a full report on our work in the upcoming months. Additionally, we want to thank the staff at both DC-FCCA and MSSPA for their support of this work.

Read our Impact Story.

The grant gave me the opportunity to create a safe space for the children of our childcare home to play freely and safely in the comfort of our backyard. I would not have been able to cover these costs because we do not have full enrollment yet and we are overwhelmed with operating costs.
