Camille Desierto

Jeremy Nowak Fellow

Camille Desierto is the 2022 Jeremy Nowak Fellow at Reinvestment Fund. Ms. Desierto will report to Policy Solutions and rotate through various departments to gain a holistic perspective of how Reinvestment Fund forwards their mission of building more equitable communities. She is a strong believer that the voices of marginalized communities are imperative to community development and can help guide research, policy, and best practices. Ms. Desierto is eager to gain a broader perspective of the ways data informs decision-making and manifest sufficiently in real-world settings. She hopes her time with Reinvestment Fund will sharpen her skillset and provide her with a clearer understanding of what career path to pursue.

Previously, Ms. Desierto graduated magna cum laude from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Certification in Spanish, and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice after completing the department’s 4+1 Accelerated Program. She was honored with the Criminal Justice Excellence Award during her undergraduate career for her strong academic performance. Her research experiences involved the Asian Pacific Islander (API) community in relation to immigration and crime, intergenerational Filipinx-American experiences, and hate and extremism during the COVID-19 pandemic.
